Regular Polygons
Regular polygons can be seen commonly in our daily lives along the road or in the classroom. They are frequently found in the form of signs, giving directions, or inspiring people with their messages. When designing or constructing things, architects, engineers, and carpenters strive for perfection. Often times, the object they are working on must have congruent sides. This is known as regular polygons. If their work does not have congruent sides, many times, there will be a problem. For example, when designing things, people must take into account if what they are designing is a regular polygon. If it is not, many times the object will look less visually appealing and may not catch the attention of people.

Lessons 2 & 3
House
Parallelograms
Similar to regular polygons, parallelograms are very relevant when it comes to architecture. Both pairs of opposite sides of a building must be parallel for the structure to be safe. To determine if it is a parallelogram, architects can use the properties of parallelograms to find out. There are four methods which he or she can use.

Carpenter working with wood

Special Parallelograms
When a carpenter is working on a project, he must know many types of different shapes, including special parallelograms. If the instructions tell him to build a rhombus with side length of two length of two feet and depth of half a foot, he must know the properties of a parallelogram. If he does not recognize the properties of special parallelograms, certain pieces may not fit with others.

Lesson 7 & 8
Two pizza options

Area of Triangles and Quadrilaterals
Knowing the area to different triangles and quadrilaterals is crucial in numerous circumstances (not just for geometry). Many times, we are presented with multiple choices, and the only way to decide which one is best is to find out which choice has the greatest area. In the example given, one store gives two options for pizza. They cost the same, so the best deal is the one with the greatest area (the one on the right).

Lesson nine
Buying a new T.V

Changing dimensions effect on area
Lesson nine is very much relevant to the real world. Very often, people must go through change due to certain occurrences. Sometimes they are for the better, while other times they are for the worse. In the visual, somebody has just moved into a new house and wants to buy a T.V with sides double his old one. Using the information in this lesson, he can figure out the area of his new T.V and if it will fit in his home.
